SUMMARY:

Business Development (Food Services & Wet Market) plays a vital role in exploring new business opportunities and developing new product offerings to propel the growth of company products to key industry players and business partners.  He/she is able to develop and efficiently execute branding, marketing and sales strategies that are in line with the company’s objectives. He/she needs to be a pro-active and self-motivated individual, who possesses strong motivation to succeed in a fast paced and evolving business environment.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Able to identify and pursue new business opportunities to propel the growth of company products with key industry players and business partners

• Formulate and execute sales and marketing plans for company products that are aligned with overall business objectives

• Build and foster strategic partnership with key industry players, business partners, agencies and vendors

• Collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams to develop new product concept/ideas

• Conduct market research by keeping abreast with industry trends and consumer preferences to optimise marketing initiatives

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by addressing their needs and ensuring customer satisfaction

• Monitor and analyse sales performance to measure the effectiveness of sales and marketing plans

• Prepare weekly/monthly sales report and provide market insights to management

• Develop marketing materials according to marketing plans

• Negotiation of sales, pricing, and delivery terms

• Collection of outstanding payments and negotiation of credit terms

• Any other duties as assigned

• Independent and self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership

• Able to handle stakeholders, projects, negotiations, and multiple priorities while being meticulous in a fast pace work environment.

Education & Experience

• Degree/Diploma in Business, Marketing, Commerce or related field

• 4 years related experience in commodity sales and/or trading

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel & PowerPoint
