Construction Manager (LTA/ MRT/ Railway Trackwork) - #1098876

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate site meetings with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure alignment on project deliverables

• Manage railway system replacement works, including full planning and execution

• Coordinate railway access with SMRT for construction activities during engineering hours

• Review and approve survey reports and oversee hand back engineers for system reinstatement

• Ensure construction documentation is complete and sufficient for site execution

• Liaise with clients and consultants to resolve discrepancies in drawings or specifications

• Prepare and issue RFIs to clients and operators for clarifications on project and construction matters

• Propose efficient and cost-effective construction methods to improve productivity and quality

• Control material usage to minimize wastage

• Plan and organize daily site activities and manpower

• Monitor project scope and notify the Quantity Surveyor of potential variation orders

• Manage engineering data and information from clients and internal technical teams

• Address Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) promptly with corrective actions, conduct joint inspections, and oversee closure of issues

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Railway Engineering from a recognized institution

• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in managing railway construction teams on similar-scale projects

• Prior experience in railway renewal works conducted during restricted engineering hours

• Strong technical, engineering, and project management expertise, with deep knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations

• Familiarity with railway safety-critical competencies and compliance requirements
