Project Engineer - #1097789

Primary Objective(s) of Position

• Responsible for the design and development of all aspects of projects, including tendering, contract review, design, drawing, scheduling, purchasing, testing, packing, shipment and commissioning of marine and oil and gas engines, and respective associated propulsion and / or power generation systems, as per customers’ requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Review design and specifications of marine engines, propulsion system and power generation system required by prospective customers

• Provide comprehensive system and design solutions with alternative proposals to meet customers’ requirement on their needs

• Prepare cost estimates, technical specifications and design drawings of power solution system

• Provide technical support for energy and transportation system sales and marketing activities

• Coordinate all mechanical and electrical interfacing of designated projects to meet specifications

• Instruct draughtsperson to prepare mechanical and electrical drawings for tender replies and awarded projects according to customers' specifications

• Review returned drawings and modify as required for construction

• Provide calculations and specifications to sub-vendors for major equipment purchase

• Liaise with vendors for quotations to procure/fabricate components

• Coordinate with contractors / vendors on engine assembly / packaging works

• Assist with final technical inspections and testing of equipment

• Prepare packing list and coordinate with freight forwarding company on packing, delivery and shipment

• Perform on site commissioning as and when required

• Prepare project costing and report to the Application Manager

• Attend/Conduct engineering and project meetings both in Singapore and overseas (when required)

• Assist in review and update of department procedures and manuals

• Fullfill any other duties as and when assigned by the superiors

Person Specifications

• Possess a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and

• Has at least 1 to 2 years of related experience in Heavy Equipment and / or industrial products

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

• Possess good interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills

• Must have good customer orientation in order to fulfil customers’ expectations and demands at all times

• Must have good interpersonal and negotiation skills

• Must have high propensity for accurate information

• Highly organized to meet schedules and deadlines

• Able to write and correspond with external parties and internal departments

• Able to travel as and when required

• Knowledge on engines and gensets is preferred

• Knowledge of SAP system is an added advantage
