Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development & Plan Manager to drive business development and strategic planning for our range of defence-related products and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the local defence sector, government procurement processes, and a proven track record in business development, preferably in defence or security industries.
Job Description:
Identify and develop new business strategies and opportunities for the local defence sector and armed forces.
Identify and form strategic partnerships with local and overseas defence industries.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in the Ministry of Defence, armed services, and associated agencies.
Understand customer requirements and work with internal teams (engineering, operations, logistics, legal, etc.) to develop business solutions.
Lead the preparation of proposals, RFP/RFQ responses, and coordinate tender submissions.
Monitor defence procurement policies, offset obligations, and regulatory frameworks to align business strategies.
Represent the company at defence expos, trade shows, and industry events.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotional materials.
Prepare, track and report on sales pipeline, forecasts, and KPIs to senior management.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Defence Studies, Business, or related field. MBA is an advantage.
5 to10 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in defence, security, or government-related sectors.
Understanding of government procurement and tendering processes.
Strong network within defence and government sectors is highly preferred.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to travel as required for client meetings, events, and expos.
Familiarity with Ministry of Defence Procurement guide, processes and offset policy.
Experience in working with defence technologies, systems or dual-use technologies.
Prior service in the armed forces (officer level) is a strong plus.
