The Job
- Therapy Implementation: Deliver customized treatment plans incorporating hands-on therapeutic techniques such as therapeutic exercises, massage, hydrotherapy, and other appropriate modalities based on each patient's condition and prescribed therapy.
- Patient Evaluation: Assist in conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' health and physical condition to help determine the most effective therapy plans.
- Client Communication: Effectively communicate treatment plans, progress updates, and home-care instructions to pet owners in a clear and compassionate manner.
- Collaboration: Work closely with veterinarians and other team members to ensure coordinated care and optimal outcomes for each patient.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient progress to support informed decision-making and treatment adjustments.
- Continuous Learning: Stay informed on the latest advancements and best practices in animal rehabilitation to consistently deliver high-quality care.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure therapy equipment is regularly maintained, clean, and safe for use.
- Client Relationship Management: Build strong, trust-based relationships with pet owners, always prioritizing the health and well-being of their animals.
You Bring
- A degree in Human Physiotherapy, Veterinary Nursing, Animal Physiotherapy, or Animal Science from a recognized institution.
- Additional qualifications in animal rehabilitation or related specialties such as Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT), Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA), or Canine Hydrotherapy Certification-are considered an advantage.
- 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in a veterinary clinic, hospital, or similar setting is preferred.
- Certified Physiotherapist with current registration.
- Active member of SPA or registered with the AHPC.
- Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
- Physically able to lift and handle animals weighing up to 20-30 kg.
