Job Title: Retail Assistant - Bedding Specialist

Job Summary: The Retail Assistant - Bedding Specialist will be responsible for driving sales within the bedding department, providing expert advice to customers, and ensuring the department is well-stocked and visually appealing. This role requires a proactive individual who is comfortable with a dynamic retail environment, including working weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Service:
Proactively engage with customers, identify their needs, and recommend suitable bedding products (e.g., mattresses, pillows, duvets, bed linens, protectors) based on their preferences and budget.
Achieve and exceed sales targets by effectively communicating product features, benefits, and promotions.
Provide in-depth product knowledge, including material composition, care instructions, and brand specifics.
Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction.
Process sales transactions accurately using the POS system.
Stock Management:
Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate inventory records.
Monitor stock levels and proactively replenish display and selling areas to ensure product availability.
Prepare and submit stock orders to maintain optimal inventory levels, considering seasonal trends and customer demand.
Receive, unpack, and organize new stock deliveries, ensuring proper storage and merchandising.
Identify and report slow-moving or damaged stock.
Merchandising & Store Upkeep:
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing bedding display according to departmental guidelines.
Ensure all products are correctly priced and clearly tagged.
Assist with the setup of promotional displays and seasonal changes.
Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
Requirements:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer literacy.
Physically able to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and assist with moving bedding products.
A strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
Availability to work on weekends and public holidays is essential, with weekdays off on a rotating basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of various bedding materials and their benefits (e.g., memory foam, latex, spring mattresses; cotton, linen, silk bed sheets).
