The Role:
We are looking for a System Engineer (Backend/Frontend) to join our technical team, where you’ll take ownership of backend system deployment and support. You’ll play a critical role in designing secure, resilient systems to meet operational and project demands. In this role, you will:

• Lead system installation, configuration, and deployment across various platforms, ensuring they meet project and SLA requirements

• Implement system hardening practices (e.g., CIS) for both Windows and Linux servers to ensure compliance and security

• Manage system change requests, including impact assessment, stakeholder coordination, and documentation

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues through root cause analysis and long-term preventive measures

• Develop and maintain service continuity strategies including robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes

• Provide expert-level support and technical advice to internal teams and clients on backend infrastructure matters

• Perform backend server configurations including SSH settings, password policies, and limited privilege user accounts

• Restore servers using REAR and perform regular system maintenance and patch management

• Troubleshoot issues related to PSIM, CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and associated network infrastructure

• Maintain clear documentation and monitor system performance to drive optimization and uptime

What are we looking for?

• Diploma/Degree/Nitec in Electrical, Electronics Engineering or IT from a recognized institution

• Proficient in working with Ubuntu (mandatory), with added advantage in Windows Server 2022 and Redhat Linux on cloud platforms

• Strong experience in backend system configuration, including user access control, hardening, and server restoration

• Familiar with basic computer and network troubleshooting

• Experience with CIS hardening methodologies and Linux system tuning

• Good understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity processes

• Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Analytical and proactive mindset with the ability to work independently or within a project team

• Willingness to travel between sites (transport claimable) and provide 24/7 standby support (no shiftwork)
