Principal Engineer - NPU (Neural Processing Unit) - #1096300

We're building advanced Neural Processing Unit (NPUs) to accelerate real-time AI workloads.

Responsibilities:

1. Define and design microarchitecture for key NPU components such as compute arrays, memory hierarchies, schedulers)
2. Develop performance modules and simulations to optimize AI inference throughput and efficiency.
3. Own the RTL design and implementation using Verilog / System Verilog for NPU sub-blocks.
4. Drive and optimize PPA (Performance / Power / Area) to meet key objectives and results.
5. Work closely with verification engineers to ensure comprehensive testing and debug issues.
6. Participate in the integration into the overall system, conducting design checks, and addressing lint / timing / CDC issues.
7. Collaborate with software teams to assist in compiler and toolchain development and debugging. 

Requirements:

• min. 8 years of digital design with working experience in SoC design
• min. 1 cycle of NPU design completion experience is mandatory
• Experience in microarchitecture design, and RTL coding with Verilog / System-Verilog
• Experience in synthesis, with analysis of power, timing and area
• Experience in UVM verification methodology / optimizing micro-architectures for low-power and low-area / deep learning algorithms such as CNN or Transformer is a plus
