Central Recovery Service Technician - #1095088

Primary Objective

Perform on-site/road recovery of breakdown or accident buses safely.

Major Responsibilities

• Perform 1st parade check and before starting and taking over the CRS recovery vehicle. Report any findings to CRS MSO/controller.

• Communicate effectively and establish close contact with CRS controller when performing duties.

• Provide expeditious recovery of breakdown/immobilized/accident bus on site while observing personal safety.

• Possess basic knowledge on the removal of hub shafts, release of brakes, connection of external air supply to the bus air system and removal of bus wheels.

• Familiar with hand tools, electrical powered tools and air compressor operation will be advantageous.

• Take photos of dislodged items from bus, tyres punctured by foreign objects or when instructed by CRS controller to do so, for records.

• Provide on site assessment and troubleshoot of bus fault. To document the breakdown details in the CRS breakdown slip at the end of recovery.

• Perform other adhoc duties assigned by the Supervisor e.g. Ops relay, speci al events, workshop related duties, etc.

• Perform good housekeeping on the CRS tow truck / van at end of each working day.

• Comply to Singapore traffic laws when driving on the road.

• Comply to CRS Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Work Practices when recovering a bus on site.

• Adhere to depot / interchange safety rules and regulations when standing by at designated locations.

• Have presence of mind at all times when on duty to respond to bus recoveries.

Requirements

• Minimum NITEC in Automotive Engineering and above.

• Minimum Years of Relevant Experience.

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in operating a tow truck and repair activities.

• Experience in towing heavy vehicles e.g. trucks, buses, trailers.
  Possess Class 4 and above driving license.

• Familiar with Singapore road.

• Proficient in written and spoken English

• Dedicated, honest, hardworking and willing to learn.

• Able to perform duties under intense stress.

• Physically fit to handle the role.

• Able to work independently and team player.
