· To perform new product development from ingredient sourcing, laboratory and kitchen trials to commercialization, focusing especially in sauces.
· To conduct continual improvement of existing products.
· To conduct sensory evaluation and approval of new and/or alternative raw materials.
· To prepare product costings based on raw materials and manufacturing costs.
· Collaborate with the Marketing department to understand the customers’ needs and requirements and to also assist in troubleshooting customers’ technical issues (when necessary).
· To conceptualize new and innovative products.
· Ensure all product creation complies with customer, government and legal regulatory requirements within the country of use.
· To develop innovative solutions to help grow and value-add to customers’ requirements, ensuring that any solutions provided are within the stipulated cost parameters and manufacturing capability.
· To facilitate the handover of new product(s) so as to ensure the smooth transition from test kitchen to Production. This includes liaising with the Technical / Production Manager to ensure that the product development fits the site capabilities.
· Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory.
Job Requirements
· Bachelors’ Degree in Food Science and Technology or relevant field
· Relevant experience in handling ISO, SFA, Halal, and F&B outlet audits
· Strong knowledge in the relevant regulatory standards
· Minimum 2 to 3 years of R&D experience
· Able to work independently with minimum supervision
