Reporting to the Director of Clinical Affairs and Administrator of Medico-Legal Case Management within the Medical Board, the Assistant Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a proactive hospital-wide medico-legal risk management programme in collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders to effectively and responsively mitigate medico-legal risks for the Hospital.
He/she will also support in the management and coordination of medico-legal complaints, litigation cases and coroner’s cases. In addition, he/she may be required to provide support to clinical and non-clinical departments on general legal matters.
Education, Training and Experience
- A clinical degree is preferred (e.g. medical/nursing/allied health) with a postgraduate qualification in law and medical ethics
- 7 years of clinical administration experience of which at least 4 years are in a supervisory or leadership capacity
- Strong foundation in medico-legal and ethical standards/legal regulations
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to adapt to dynamic reporting lines
- Demonstrated competences required for the role e.g. teamwork, resourceful and strong collaborator
