As Regional Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, you will be the strategic communications lead for a portfolio of iconic Shangri-La properties across Southeast Asia and Australasia. From urban landmarks in Singapore and Sydney to beachside retreats in the Philippines and Fiji, you will protect and elevate the Shangri-La brand, shape our corporate voice, amplify our leadership, and engage audiences with stories that reflect our Asian heritage, hospitality excellence, and sustainability commitments.


You will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, a collaborative partner to cross-functional teams, and a storyteller who can bring our brand narrative to life in compelling and culturally relevant ways. This role will oversee brand reputation, media relations, executive communications, and internal engagement across multiple markets in the region.


As a Senior Communications Manager, SEAA , we rely on you to

Strategic Regional Communications

  • Develop and implement integrated communications strategies that support business goals/priorities, brand positioning, and thought leadership initiatives across Southeast Asia and Australasia
  • Champion Shangri-La’s leadership in wellness, sustainability, innovation, and guest experience through compelling messaging
  • Ensure all regional communications are consistent with Shangri-La’s tone of voice, brand identity, and cultural values
  • Provide strategic counsel to country GMs and senior leaders on reputation management, media engagement, issues management and crisis communication


Reputation Management and Public Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media in the region to secure proactive, high-quality coverage
  • Proactively identify storytelling opportunities that spotlight our hotels, general managers, and Group initiatives
  • Working collaboratively with hotel and regional teams in leading all media engagement, press release development, spokesperson training, and media briefing coordination across the region
  • Act as company spokesperson where appropriate/necessary and manage media interviews and briefings for senior executives
  • Manage media monitoring and reporting, providing timely insights and analysis to senior stakeholders


Executive Communications

  • Support the regional leadership team with high-impact communications, including speeches, op-eds, talking points, and internal updates


Internal Communications and Engagement

  • Develop communications that inspire and inform our colleagues across all levels—from front-line teams to senior executives


Crisis and Issues Management

  • Act as the regional lead for issues and crisis communication, working in close partnership with Group-level crisis response teams
  • Develop preparedness plans, maintain response protocols, and manage real-time reputation risks


Stakeholder and Agency Management

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with key corporate stakeholders and hotel operations teams
  • Manage external PR agencies across priority markets and evaluate their performance to ensure alignment with brand goals


We Are Looking For Someone Who Has

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in communications, preferably within luxury hospitality, travel, or related lifestyle industries
  • Deep familiarity with media landscapes and cultural nuances across Southeast Asia and Australasia
  • Proven success in building brand reputation, managing crises, and leading integrated communications campaigns across markets
  • Possesses a results-oriented mindset, consistently using performance metrics to optimize strategies and drive outcomes aligned with commercial objectives
  • Established network of media contacts, KOLs, and industry partners to amplify campaigns and increase brand visibility
  • Good organisational and project management skills, with a proven ability to execute campaigns on time, within budget, and in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft persuasive narratives and tailor messaging for diverse audiences
  • Confident spokesperson and media handler, with experience in executive communications and public affairs
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in another Asian language (e.g., Mandarin, Bahasa, Thai) is a strong asset as there will be communications with colleagues and clients who speak those languages
  • Able to travel within the region as required
