Over the past decade, the family office has deepened its strategic focus on the Asia Pacific region, recognizing the region’s long-term growth trajectory, entrepreneurial dynamism, and innovation potential. Asia Pacific is now viewed as a critical component of the family’s global investment thesis, particularly in the areas of private equity, venture capital, real estate, and next-generation technologies.
As such, the family office is strengthening its regional presence and capabilities by appointing a seasoned finance executive to serve as Head of Finance, Asia Pacific. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial and investment oversight of the region, ensuring rigorous financial governance, and supporting the family’s long-term ambitions in Asia.
Role Overview
The Head of Finance, Asia Pacific will be responsible for leading the finance function across the region, with end-to-end accountability for financial strategy, investment oversight, planning and analysis, risk management, and financial operations. Reporting directly to the Group CFO in Norway and working closely with the Regional CEO, this is a senior leadership role that requires strategic acumen, technical excellence, and operational execution across a diverse and evolving investment portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance Leadership
- Lead the regional finance strategy, ensuring alignment with global financial objectives, compliance standards, and governance expectations.
- Act as a key strategic advisor to the Regional CEO and the Global Investment Committee on investment structuring, performance monitoring, and capital deployment.
- Provide financial leadership on strategic initiatives, including new market entry, joint ventures, and large-scale asset acquisitions.
Investment Oversight
- Lead and manage all financial aspects of private equity, venture capital, and real estate investments in the region.
- Oversee financial due diligence, valuation modeling, deal structuring, and post-investment monitoring for direct and indirect investments.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners, including GPs, fund managers, legal counsel, and investment advisors to ensure thorough financial analysis and risk-adjusted decision-making.
- Prepare investment papers and present financial assessments to the Investment Committee.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Own the regional budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes in coordination with HQ.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports and insights to support strategic decision-making at the executive and board level.
- Identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the portfolio and broader market, translating these into actionable financial strategies.
Governance, Controls & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, tax, and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions within Asia Pacific.
- Establish and maintain strong internal control systems, audit processes, and enterprise risk management practices.
- Manage all financial policies and procedures, ensuring they meet the highest standards of transparency and integrity.
Operational Finance & Treasury
- Oversee the finance operations for the region, including accounting, tax, cash flow management, and treasury.
- Optimize regional banking relationships, working capital, and liquidity management strategies.
- Implement and maintain financial systems and tools to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
Team Leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing regional finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and integrity.
- Provide leadership and direction on all finance-related hiring, training, and development initiatives in the region.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including significant exposure to private equity and venture capital investments.
- Demonstrated track record in financial due diligence, investment structuring, and post-deal performance management.
- Direct experience with real estate or property investments and/or asset management in the Asia Pacific region is highly advantageous.
- Experience operating in or advising a family office, investment firm, or private investment vehicle is preferred.
- CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification required; MBA or postgraduate finance degree preferred.
- Strong technical skills in financial modeling, valuation, and investment reporting.
- Comprehensive understanding of regional regulatory, tax, and legal frameworks.
- Prior experience managing cross-border teams and finance operations in multi-jurisdictional environments.
