Data Scientist (Fresh Graduate / Entry Level) - #1092876
Meinhardt Group

We are looking for a curious, capable, and LLM-savvy early-career Data Scientist to join our AI team. In this role, you will help build AI solutions that process unstructured engineering documents—ranging from CAD drawings and technical reports to scanned PDFs and complex tables.
This role is ideal for recent graduates who have been exposed to Large Language Models (LLMs) during their studies and have applied them in academic or personal projects. You’ll work alongside senior team members and domain experts to bring AI innovations into the real world.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in developing and evaluating AI models that extract structured data from unstructured content (PDFs, Word, Excel, CAD/BIM).
- Work with multi-modal data (text, tables, images, drawings) to support use cases like summarization, information extraction, and compliance checking.
- Help build knowledge bases and pipelines for LLM-powered Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks.
- Contribute to preprocessing, experimentation, and performance evaluation of NLP and vision models.
- Collaborate with senior data scientists and software engineers on real-world deployment of AI models.
- Document experiments, share insights, and continuously improve model quality.
- Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong academic understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs)—including attention mechanisms, transformers, embeddings, and fine-tuning techniques.
- Demonstrated exposure to LLMs in coursework, capstone projects, internships, or personal projects (e.g., using GPT, LLaMA, BERT, etc.).
- Proficiency in Python and common ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, scikit-learn).
- Familiarity with NLP workflows—text classification, summarization, question answering, etc.
- Good communication skills and a desire to learn in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or vector databases.
- Exposure to computer vision techniques or multimodal AI models.
- Experience working with or interpreting CAD/BIM, engineering drawings, or technical data.
- Participation in AI-related hackathons, research, or open-source contributions.
- Apply what you’ve learned in school to impactful projects in urban planning and engineering.
- Work alongside experts in LLMs, RAG, and AI infrastructure.
- Grow in a supportive environment that values mentorship, experimentation, and continuous learning.
- Contribute to building tools that shape smarter cities and more sustainable infrastructure.
If you're excited about the potential of LLMs and want to bring AI into the built world—we’d love to hear from you. Apply now!
