Role of Position

Responsible for technical drawings of more complex/large projects or oversees a team of drafters. Ensures that technical drawings are prepared according to time schedule and conform to specifications for construction.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·      Supervises and monitors the progress of shop drawings by team members for approval submission;

·      Ensures the understanding and compliance of drawings with standards and specifications;

·      Ensures understanding of project scope and requirements that impact accuracy of shop drawings;

·      Prepares shop drawings and necessary documentation submission to main contractors/architects, etc;

·      Prepares and updates status of shop drawing submission list for each project;

·      Highlights and discusses any discrepancies on items/materials with relevant parties;

·      Assists subordinates in the preparation of shop drawing details;

·      Co-ordinates and arranges structural and architectural inspections with consultants;

·      Prepares shop drawing schedule and submission to consultants for approval;

·      Attends site meetings, progress and design meetings to provide status updates and resolves design and other issues;

·      Works closely with project team members, clients and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects;

·      Monitors and coaches the performance of team members;

·      Promotes team spirit and ensures good morale exists among team members;

·      Any other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.

• 5–10 years of experience in design management, preferably within the construction sectors.

• Strong technical knowledge in architecture, structural, and M&E works

• Excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills

• Familiarity with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360)

• Good understanding of construction sequencing and methods
